About me:

My name is Christopher Cancel. I am the writer, artist, editor and creator of the Graphic Novel Series, “My Life as An American Hero” A series that takes place in the futuristic society of Cocoa City, Florida, but there will be tragic events that'll occur and only three young ladies may have the power left from their parents to stop these terrorists threats. I am from Bronx, New York and Graduated Bloomfield College with a Bachelor of Arts in Game Design and an Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I've started to get interested in writing since the 7th grade and got interested in art since I was five years old. I'm a fan of anime and my goal is turn my series into one someday.

Early life and the birth of my art.

I was first interested in art at 3 years old. I watched my grandma color on her coloring books and I fell in love with coloring since then. As the years passed, I evolved from coloring books to working on stick figures, follow by drawing bodies, then hair and so on. Every year I put effort into it and my skills continue to improve every day.

The birth of my writing:

It wasn't until 6th grade that writing came into my life. In language i remembered doing an assignment called picture prompt. when we started working it, a new gift was given to me. since then I started writing stories from notebooks, to the computer.

The birth of My Life as An American Hero Series

After I graduated Bloomfield College with a B.A in Game Design and before I went to Full Sail University for my MFA in Creative Writing, I began to work on my first graphic novel. it started when I was reading a webcomic called Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi, created by Bleedman.

Furthermore, I began to generate ideas by watching anime as well as 9/11 documentaries because I wanted to write something that will hopefully sync the emotions of the families and friends of the 9/11 victims to the characters of my series.

On September 24, 2013 the process for my first graphic novel began and was finally completed on May 5th 2014. I was proud of my accomplishment even though it was a long section. At the same time, I received my MFA. Because I came up with more ideas for the series, I decided to work on it more.
