CLIFFORD REDSHAW

Clifford Redshaw is the main antagonist in the anime graphic novel, “My Life as An American Hero”. He was also one of the four scientists along with John, Evelyn and Alice, who created the Power Shakes. He is also Karen's husband Joan’s father and Seymour's son-in-law.

PERSONALITY:

Several years before learning about the Vitanium Project, Clifford was a respectable man. He loved Karen with all his heart, but loved Joan even more. He was always protective and like a hero to her whenever Karen was unavailable; even during their times in the Black Brigade, he always looked after Joan and made sure nothing happens to her. Even after learning about Joan's death, he burst into tears and blaming himself inside for letting her join. Fact of the matter was, he didn't want to drag her in his situation, but because of Joan's loyalty for him, he let her join believing that she will be the new leader of the Black Brigade after his retirement.

EARLY LIFE:

Clifford was a close friends with John, Evelyn and Alice until his obsession of using the Power Shakes to create weapons of mass destruction corrupted his mind. After the cancellation of the project because of Evelyn’s pregnancy, Clifford begged John to let him continue with the project until she gives birth, but his request was denied. Evelyn soon discovered that Clifford wanted to use the Vitanium to create weapons of mass destruction so that every country around the world could respect the United States otherwise they would get blown up. John and Clifford argued about Clifford’s plan, but came to no conclusion. Clifford left after he was denied. He then confirms his conspiracies to Karen after she learns from John, Evelyn and Alice. He gets a call from Joan and learned that she killed Karen to silence her.

BIRTH OF THE BLACK BRIGADE:

Clifford and Joan established the Black Brigade two months after Karen's death. He becomes the head honcho of the organization while Joan becomes the commander of the paramilitary group. He and Joan share a strong bond and care about each other. For terrorist attacks, he plans out the attacks and Joan commits them. According to Janice, they've been involved in a series of attacks since the assault at a Biofare Facility in Chicago.

COCOA CITY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL:

During the attacks, Clifford arrives at the hospital to confront Evelyn about the Vitanium's location. He sees Diana and asks for her, but she refuses; which forces him to kill her. Soon Evelyn arrives and the two confront each other face to face. He then asks her about the Vitanium's location, but Evelyn refuses to tell him and blames him for John's death three days earlier. Aggressively, Clifford asks Evelyn once again about the Vitanium's location and Evelyn refuses to reveal it to him; causing him to shoot her point blank in front of Luna.

SHOWDOWN AT THE WAREHOUSE DISTRICT:

Clifford encounters Rachel and Silvia outside the warehouses while Joan activates the launch codes at the Space Needle. He tries to prevent Silvia from heading there but is zapped by Rachel's lightning. During the battle, He ambushes and knocks her out with a steel pole (which normally would kill a person). He then tries to finish her off by strangling her while pointing his gun, but was interrupted by Luna. Luna warns him to let Rachel go, but he refuses; causing her to awaken her Piranha mode. She instantly attacks him and gains the advantage. Clifford regains the advantage when one of his choppers appears; causing Rachel and Luna to pull back. He gets teleported to the chopper and continues to attack the two sisters, but is soon shot down by the remaining power of Silvia's Protein Cannon. However, he survives.

DEATH:

After surviving the crash, Clifford is soon confronted by Karen; who tells him that about Joan's death. He immediately breaks down in tears while Karen blames him for the damage he's caused, including Joan's death. After Karen disappears, Clifford is then confronted by the Valentine Sisters, who also give him final words before Rachel shoots him in the face multiple times execution style.

Clifford sees Karen's spirit.

Clifford's fate is sealed.
